CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY: Misamis Oriental Provincial Governor Juliette Uy on Tuesday appealed to the political opposition for unity, urging them to forget political animosity and work together for the common good.
In her inaugural speech at the provincial capitol grounds, the newly elected governor urged employees and key officials to collaborate with her and unite with her administration.
Uy outlined the platforms that her administration intends to accomplish in health, poverty alleviation, education, transportation, and economic development.
“Don’t be loyal to me. Be loyal to your work in order to achieve our goals as public servants,” Uy said.
She stated that her administration would respond to the people’s demand for changes that would bring her administration closer to the community.
Uy was elected as the new Misamis Oriental provincial governor in the midterm election in May this year, achieving an upset against then-incumbent Governor Peter Unabia. With the Vice Governor and the majority of the provincial board members, it will be a rough sailing for Uy’s incumbency.
