Cagayan de Oro City -On May 9, 2025, the PhilHealth Regional Office 10, under the leadership of Regional Vice President Delio Aseron II, convened a press conference in collaboration with the Philippine Orthopaedic Association (POA) to spotlight the Z Benefit Package for orthopedic implants and promote awareness regarding joint replacement procedures. This initiative is a significant step towards ensuring that essential healthcare services are accessible and affordable for Filipinos suffering from orthopedic issues.
The press conference featured prominent figures from the POA, including National President Dr. Jac Pimentel and key officers such as Dr. Peter Quiaoit and Dr. Michael Muñoz. Their collective expertise is vital in championing this project aimed at improving patient outcomes through advanced surgical interventions. The presence of Dr. Jose Chan from Northern Mindanao Medical Center further emphasizes the collaborative effort between PhilHealth and healthcare providers to deliver these critical services efficiently.
This joint initiative aims to make surgeries involving upper and lower extremity implants more accessible while also focusing on hip and knee joint replacements. By enhancing healthcare delivery through such programs, PhilHealth seeks to restore functionality and mobility for its members, ultimately improving their quality of life.
