Cagayan de Oro City — The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region X will lead the regional celebration of the 51st Nutrition Month this July 2025. This year’s campaign, with the theme “Sa PPAN: Sama-Sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!”, will be observed until 2028 with sub-theme, “Food at Nutrition Security Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain Karapatan Natin!” which emphasizes the importance of healthy diet as one of the pillars of Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) 2023-2028. This highlights the urgent need to ensure that all Filipinos have access to safe, sufficient, and nutritious food, aligning with the goals of PPAN to reduce malnutrition and hunger.
As the kick-off activity for the 2025 Nutrition Month celebration, the NNC Region X, in coordination with the Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office (DA RFO) 10 the City Government of Valencia, will host the official launching event on 2 July 2025 at the Covered Court, City Hall, Valencia City, Bukidnon.
The launching will begin with a motorcade, to be participated in by representatives from NNC Region X, Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) agencies, DA RFO 10, Valencia City and Barangay Nutrition Committees, Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Networks, the Media Advocates for Nutrition and Governance in Region 10 (MANGO DIEZ), and invited foodpanda delivery riders of Valencia City.
This will be followed by the unveiling of the official 2025 Nutrition Month Tarpaulin, along with booth displays and agricultural technology exhibits by DA RFO 10. There will also be showcases from the SUN Business Network on private sector efforts in food and nutrition security, as well as nutrition education and counseling care of the City LGU.
In the afternoon, the City Nutrition and Human Physical Development Division (CNHPDD) will lead a Zumba Craze activity to promote active lifestyles.
This collaborative celebration reflects the shared commitment of regional and city nutrition committees and other stakeholders to improve food and nutrition security in the Region.
NNC Region X recognizes the vital roles of DA RFO 10 and the RNC members in ensuring food security and promoting nutrition-sensitive agriculture programs; LGUs in delivering nutrition in the locality; and SUN Networks and MANGO DIEZ in amplifying information dissemination and stakeholder engagement.
As we mark the 51st Nutrition Month, NNC Region X calls on all sectors in Northern Mindanao to participate in this year’s campaign by implementing meaningful, year-round activities aligned with the PPAN 2023-2028. Together, let us ensure that food and nutrition security become a priority.
As declared under Presidential Decree No. 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines, Nutrition Month is an annual campaign held every July to raise public awareness on the importance of nutrition among Filipinos.
