CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City: The regional police command here released the identities of the three suspects in the ambuscade of Lanao del Sur Gov. Mamintal Adiong on Feb. 17, 2023.
Armed with warrant of arrest, the law enforcers, collared the suspects Friday (March 10, 2023) morning in a raid on their hideout in Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
In a press statement, PMajor Joanna Navarro, the regional police spokesperson, identified the suspects as Palawan Sali Macalbo, 34, Naga Dimatingkal Baratomo, 38, all residents of Sitio Panamsamon, Ninoy Aquino, Kalilangan, Bukidnon and Amirodin Dimatingkal Mandoc, 29, of Bogong Ingod, Pamotolon, Kalilangan, Bukidnon.
PCol Reynante Reyes, the police provincial director of Bukidnon, said that the three suspects were arrested by virtue of warrant of arrest not related to Adiong’s ambushed.
Macalbo was collared by virtue of a warrant of arrest with the crime of murder and frustrated murder.
Mandoc and Baratomo were arrested for illegal possession of explosives, high powered firearms and ammunition.
Reyes said that the three denied involvement in the Adiong ambush-slay try, but they were reportedly identified in the case filed by Adiong in Office of the Prosecutor in Marawi City on March 2, 2023.
Adiong, together with his two office staff, was wounded while four of his security escorts were killed when unidentified armed group ambushed their convoy on their way to Kalilangan, Bukidnon on Feb. 17, 2023.
Navarro said that the suspects are now under the custody of Kalilangan Municipal Police Station.
