Misamis Oriental Governor Peter “Sr. Pedro” M. Unabia discouraged the Provincial Capitol employees from using mobile phones during office hours.
Gov. Unabia expressed his disappointment from his observations on Monday mornings as well on reports he has been receiving of capitol personnel using cellphones during office hours affecting the delivery of efficient services.
Mr. John Venice Ladaga, Provincial Administrator, explained to journalists how serious Gov. Unabia was in his remark.
According to Ladaga, a directive to the heads of office was already issued by Gov. Unabia to monitor the conduct of their respective employees.
The prohibition also extends to lunch breaks and weekly flag raising ceremonies.
One phone in every office will be issued where employees can be contacted by people personally connected to them in case of emergencies.
Violators who will be caught and reported will be subjected to appropriate disciplinary action regardless of employment status – job order (JO), casual and or regular employees of the provincial government.
