ON May 12 this year, the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) ordered Xavier University to produce documents on the status of the land in barangay Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City where the institution’s partner Cebu Landmasters, Inc. is currently developing a mixed use township.

In response, Xavier University and Cebu Landmasters, Inc. issued a statement saying that they have already filed a counter-position on the matter before the DENR. At the same time, they are assuring its investors and the whole community that they will not be deterred by this “external noise” and the project’s works continue as scheduled.

Meanwhile, the complainants who brought the matter before DENR also issued their own reaction.
