Klarexville I, a socialized housing project under Marcos’ 4PH, breaks ground

CAGAYAN de Oro City Mayor Rolando Uy leads the groundbreaking of the aptly named Klarexville I in barangay Pagatpat. The project – initiated by the city government of Cagayan de Oro under Uy’s administration – is certified a priority under President Marcos’ massive housing program Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino. This means applicants are automatically entitled under Socialized Housing Finance Corporation’s minimal amortization rates plus government equity.

With a current housing backlog of more than 40,000 units, Cagayan de Oro can sure take a breather with this development. (Klarexville I is offering 2,200 condo-type units.)

The five-level structure and its 5.48-hectare environs will be developed by Johndorf Ventures Corporation. Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, chairman of the committee on housing, is expected to ask the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) to use their escrow to likewise fund the construction of ancillary facilities in the area such as a health center and a daycare center.

Being a priority national government project, all ground works and drainage were already laid down by DPWH. It’s a multinational effort as these were funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and undertaken by Qingdao Municipal Construction, a company owned by the city government of Qingdao in Shandong, China.
