Korean tourist rescued from allegedly abusive compatriot in Pasay

A Korean woman reportedly being abused by another Korean was rescued in Pasay City, after her father alerted the South Korean Embassy in the Philippines.

According to the Pasay Police Investigation and Detective Management Section officer-in-charge Police Captain Dennis Desalisa, the two met in a karaoke television (KTV) bar where the victim worked.

“Nag-meet lang sila sa isang KTV kasi itong victim, tourist lang siya dito at dahil nagkulang siya ng pera allegedly, nag-work siya sa isang KTV dito sa Parañaque,” he said in a report on GMA’s “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday.

(They met in a KTV bar because the victim is a tourist here and she allegedly lacked funds so she worked in a KTV here in Parañaque.)

The victim was said to have been drugged before she was raped by the suspect, as recounted by the father. She was rescued in a condominium unit in Pasay City, where the suspect, who declined to comment, was arrested by operatives.

Recovered in the unit were packets of suspected shabu or methamphetamine and cocaine, along with improvised paraphernalia. — Jon Viktor D. Cabuenas/BM, GMA Integrated News
