Pets allowed in LRT2 starting February 1 — LRTA

Pets will be allowed in Light Rail Transit Line 2 starting February 1, Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA) administrator Hernando Cabrera said on Thursday.

“Beginning February 1, puwede nang magdala at magsakay ng ating mga pets sa mga istasyon at tren ng LRT Line 2 (we will be allowed to bring and ride with our pets in the stations and trains of LRT2),” Cabrera said at a televised pubic briefing.

Cabrero said the pets should be fully vaccinated and kept inside a cage to avoid possible disturbance of other passengers. The pets should be clean and wearing a diaper, he added.

Only certain sizes of pets will be allowed as big pets might be hard to bring inside the stations, Cabrera said.

The usual policy in pet-friendly establishments would be implemented in LRT2, Cabrera said.

According to Cabrera, Metro Rail Transit Line 3 has allowed pets in its stations since 2021. He said they will coordinate with the management of Light Rail Transit Line 1 to do the same.

The LRT2 operates 13 stations from Recto Avenue in Manila to Antipolo City. — RSJ/VBL, GMA Integrated News
