A long stretch of Ayala Avenue in Makati City is now car-free every Sunday morning.
The 2.3-km closed area on Ayala Avenue is from Courtyard Drive to H.V. dela Costa Street, according to a report by Mao dela Cruz on Super Radyo dzBB. Both the westbound lanes going to Sen. Gil Puyat Avenue and the eastbound lanes going to EDSA are closed.
Also closed are portions of Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas which are part of the Ayala Triangle Gardens to allow for a fitness loop wherein the public can walk, bike, run, walk their pets or do roller skating.
The road closure will be implemented every Sunday morning from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m.
The Car-Free Sunday Mornings at Ayala Avenue was launched on Sunday, September 10, by Ayala Land to encourage healthier and more eco-friendly lifestyle for the community.
The launch on Sunday also includes a 5K fun run, bike ride, yoga sessions, and other activities. —KG, GMA Integrated News
