“With great sadness, the family of former Congressman Celestino “Junie” Martinez Jr. of the Fourth District of Cebu and former Mayor of the City of Bogo, announces his peaceful passing on June 19, 2023. The memorial services will be held in Cebu City and Bogo City,” the LGU said.
The LGU expressed gratitude to Martinez for his service to the public and for being such a good friend.
(Thank you Dodong Junie… our faithful friend. You will always remain in our hearts).
Martinez’s family, however, did not provide further details on his death.
The flags in Bogo City are flying at half-staff in Martinez’s honor, who also served as the Department of Agriculture’s Undersecretary. (ANV, TPT)
