Maynilad Water Services Inc. on Thursday said having brownish water after a service interruption is common.
In Sandra Aguinaldo’s report on “24 Oras,” Regie Babao Jordan, a Las Pinas City resident, posted his sentiment online, showing photos of their brownish water supply.
“Wala kaming katubig tubig nag-ipon ako, nakita ko ngayon yan gatas talaga. Mabula sya, tumitining sya pero nagkukulay kalawang,” he said.
Maynilad explained that water will clear up after some time.
“Typically po nangyayari din yung maputing tubig na pressure ang cause. ‘Pag malakas ang pressure kaya nagkakaroon ng bubbles sa tubig pero typically okay if you let that water sit for a while sa container lilinaw po ‘yun,” Maynilad spokesperson and Corporate Communications head Jennifer Rufo said.
Several residents also aired the same observation about the color of the water.
“May amoy. May lasa din. At ang inaano natin safe kaya iyon sa ating homeowners?” Paulina Villaflor, chairperson of the United Moonwalk Village Homeowners Association. Maynilad said the water supply in the area was coming from its Laguna Lake plant.
It advised the residents not to drink the water if there was discoloration and said it is better to report to their hotline.
“Para maappease po yung agam-agam ng customers na nakakita na maputi yung tubig ay puwede po nating ipa check kasi there could be other causes. We can send out tech teams for instances like that na may concern ang ating customers sa tubig na kanilang natatanggap,” Rufo added.—Sherylin Untalan/LDF, GMA Integrated News
