Klarex commits P60 million for new fish landing facility

The project will also include a processing plant, cold storage, ice plant, docking quay, pier, fuel depot, and administration building

CAGAYAN de Oro City Hall under Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy’s leadership pledged ₱60‑million as equity counterpart to fund construction of the Fisheries Complex Development Project in the city.

Mayor Klarex made the assurance during a courtesy visit by representatives of the World Bank and Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR-10) regional office FishCore (Fisheries and Coastal Resiliency) team on Tuesday, June 23.

Also present during the meeting were officials of the City Agricultural Productivity Office (APOO) and City Hall’s Technical Working Group (TWG) for the P381 million fish complex project to be built in Barangay Bonbon.

The APOO is spearheading a review of the fish complex project to determine its compliance with existing environmental and social frameworks and the area’s capacity to become a sustainable and eco-friendly fisheries base.

Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy said his administration is committed to improving modern fisheries infrastructure, with facilities planned for a fish landing center, processing plant, cold storage, ice plant, docking quay, pier, fuel depot, and administration building./Text by LMR with photos by APOO
