The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Thursday announced the suspension of the expanded number coding scheme on Friday, May 1, 2026, in observance of Labor Day.
In an advisory, the MMDA said the number coding scheme is automatically lifted during regular and special non-working holidays.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips ahead to avoid inconvenience, especially with the expected increase in travel during the long weekend.
The agency also reminded the public to practice road safety and exercise caution while driving.
Labor Day, observed every May 1, is a regular holiday to honor the achievements, contributions, and struggles of the workforce in building society and the economy. —VAL, GMA NEWS
