Manila Bulletin – 6 arrested, nearly P490K shabu seized in Baseco drug ops

Six individuals, including three identified as High Value Individuals (HVI), were arrested and nearly P489,600 worth of suspected shabu was seized in two separate anti-illegal drug operations conducted by the Manila Police District (MPD) Police Station 13 in Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.

According to police reports, the operations were carried out by operatives under the supervision of Lt. Col. Rommel Anicete as part of intensified efforts to curb illegal drug activities in the area.

In the first operation, an intelligence-driven buy-bust conducted along Block 15-A led to the arrest of three suspects identified only by their aliases “Sam,” 23; “Amor,” 25; and “Sara,” 29, all residents of Baseco Compound and classified as HVIs.

Authorities confiscated approximately 62 grams of suspected shabu valued at P421,600.

The suspects are facing charges for violations of Sections 5 (sale of illegal drugs) and 11 (possession of illegal drugs) under Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In a separate operation along Block 1, Gasangan, Baseco, three more suspects were apprehended following heightened police patrols and community coordination.

The suspects, identified as “Jr,” 30; “Beth,” 21; and “Mac,” 23, were found in possession of suspected shabu worth P68,000.

They will face charges for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and are currently detained at MPD Police Station 13.
