Authorities on Sunday arrested Police Senior Master Sergeant John Mollenido, the husband of slain policewoman Diane Marie Mollenido in connection with her and their son’s deaths.
Marisol Abdurahman reported on Super Radyo dzBB that before his arrest, Police Senior Master Sergeant John Mollenido declined to comment on the statement of the car agent, who tagged him as one of the suspects.
The Quezon City Police District said John Mollenido will also face charges.
He and three previously arrested suspects will undergo inquest proceedings.
On January 24, Diane Marie, herself a Police Master Sergeant, was found dead in a creek in Pulilan, Bulacan, with a gunshot wound to the head.
John Ysmael was found five days later at a calamansi farm in Victoria, Tarlac. Police reported that he died from asphyxia caused by suffocation.
The three suspects were arrested in a residential area in Novaliches, Quezon City on Friday.
John Mollenido was identified as a person of interest, but he expressed willingness to cooperate with any investigations into the crime.
According to John Consulta’s report, Diane Marie’s cellphone and P100,000 cash were retrieved from the house of the suspects, who are live-in partners.
A sport utility vehicle (SUV) believed to have transported the victims’ bodies was also found in Pampanga.
This is an ongoing story and will be updated as additional details are available. —RF, GMA Integrated News
