The municipality of Las Nieves emerged as the overall champion in the Mindanao leg of the 2025 Indigenous Peoples (IP) Games, which was held last weekend in Buenavista, Agusan del Norte. The event, co-hosted by the provincial government of Agusan del Norte and the municipality of Buenavista, attracted around 500 participants from 11 local government units, making it the biggest leg so far in the IP Games. Las Nieves won two first-place finishes, two runner-up finishes, and one bronze medal finish, securing its position as the overall champion. The event featured various traditional games, including tug of war, bag-ud, palo sebo, lubok-humay, bangkaw, and takyang. The next leg of the IP Games will be held in Iloilo.
