UM Student Ranks Second in 2024 ChemEng Exam

A STUDENT from the University of Mindanao (UM) ranked second in the recently concluded 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination.

Jeremue John Venteroso of UM achieved a score of 90.50 percent and placed second in the examination.

“Congratulations! UM College of Engineering Education for producing Topnotcher in the November 2024 Chemical Engineers Licensure Examination!” UM said in a Facebook post on Tuesday, November 26, 2024. 

Kenn Rovikk E. Logdat of the University of the Philippines-Diliman (UP-Diliman) ranked first with a score of 90.90 percent, followed by Venteroso in second place. In third place was Marc Dylan M. Lipit of De La Salle University-Manila with a score of 90.40 percent, fourth was Tommie Daniel D. Cruz of De La Salle University-Manila with 90 percent, and fifth was Ronald G. Libago Jr. of the University of Santo Tomas with 89.80 percent.

In sixth place was Endrek B. Delos Santos of Cebu Institute of Technology-University with 89.40 percent, seventh was Aeron V. Estrada of De La Salle University-Manila with 89.10 percent, eighth was Mark Angel P. Permato of Saint Louis University with 88.90 percent, ninth was Hannah Zchannelle D. Cullamco of the Technological Institute of the Philippines-Manila with 88.60 percent, and in tenth place was Bobby G. Maravilla Jr. of the University of Saint La Salle with 88.40 percent.

The UM College of Engineering Education had a national passing rate of 72.34 percent, with an 85.71 percent passing rate for first-time takers, and a 66.67 percent overall passing rate.

Apart from UM, Ateneo de Davao University (AdDU) placed fifth among the Top Performing Schools in the licensure examination, with a passing rate of 90.48 percent.

The top-ranking universities in the exam included UP-Diliman, De La Salle University-Manila, and the University of the Philippines-Visayas-Iloilo City in the first place. Following them were the University of the Philippines-Los Baños (second), Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (third), University of San Carlos and Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila (fourth), AdDU (fifth), University of Santo Tomas (sixth), Central Philippine University (seventh), and Xavier University (eighth).

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced that out of 951 takers, 688 passed the licensure examination administered by the Board of Chemical Engineering in the National Capital Region, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, and Rosales. RGP
