Over P8 million shabu seized in Pardo buy-bust

MORE than a kilo of suspected shabu worth P8.3 million were confiscated and three drug personalities were arrested in an anti-illegal drug operation in E. Sabellano Street, Barangay Pardo, Cebu City past 10 p.m. on Monday, May 22, 2023.

Those arrested were Anthony John Adlawan, 31, a former car wash attendant, and his cohorts Archie Marollano, 38, a feeds delivery worker, and Amid Gantalao, 42, a truck driver.

Both suspects hail from Barangay San Roque, Talisay City.

Adlawan was nabbed by the operatives of Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU 7) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 7) when he handed over 100 grams of alleged shabu to the police poseur-buyer.

An orange tea bag containing a kilogram of suspected shabu was also confiscated from his possession.

The law enforcers also seized 100 grams of illegal drugs from Marollano and 25 grams from Gantalao.

The drugs seized totaling 1,225 kilograms had an average street value of P8.3 million.

During police interrogation, Adlawan admitted that he was forced to join the drug trade after he lost his job and after being offered to receive P15,000 in exchange for delivering the drugs.

The suspects will be facing charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. (BBT, TPT)
