WHO would have thought that killing a pig would cost a man’s life?
The incident occurred at 11:45 a.m. on Friday, September 22, 2023, in Sitio Bayang, Barangay Moabog, Pilar town, Camotes island, northern Cebu.
The fatality was identified as Marcelito Gontinas Lapeciros, a resident of the said place.
Police Master Sergeant Alex Dolfo of Pilar Police Station said Lapeciros was reportedly killing a pig by hitting the animal in the head with a piece of wood and then stabbing it in the neck.
He claimed that Lapeciros believed the pig to be already dead when it suddenly rose up and ran away, forcing him to stop it.
However, the butcher knife was struck by the pig’s rope, causing it to fly erratically and strike the victim’s neck.(DVG, TPT)
