A MAN who went viral in the social media for attacking his live-in partner’s fellow call center workers out of jealously was arrested by the police.
Darren Alderson Tejano Cui, 26, a delivery rider from Barangay Bulacao, Cebu City, begged his wife Sophia Jabido for forgiveness following the event, but the latter was determined to file a complaint and end their relationship.
Cui, who is now detained at the Abellana Police Station 2, acknowledged that he committed the error solely out of envy after his live-in partner went two days without returning home.
Cui said that he was simply overcome by emotion when he attacked Leif Ulf Erik Tura, 30, from Seaview Heights, Barangay Lawaan 1, Talisay City.
“Nadala ra gyud ko sa akung emosyon, ambot unsay nasulod sa akung utok nganong nahimo nako to. Ako raman unta bitaron akung asawa naa may mga laki nagtuo ko nga moapil sila ba,” Cui said.
(I was just carried away by my emotions, I don’t know what went into my brain why I did it. I should have pulled my wife but there were guys, I thought they would interrupt).
Cui also admitted that he had beaten his wife in the past because he thought she was seeing someone else, especially when he was upset.
Jabido, on the other hand, asserted that she has made up her mind to end things with the suspect, despite the fact that they have a 1-year-old daughter.
“Wala ka maluoy sa panahon nga gikulata ko nimo, dili naka mousab? Kay naa naman, nya balik nasad, kapila nako mohatag pasaylo mao raman gihapon, dili na maihap paghatag og pasaylo mao ra gihapon kay kada kulata pasaylo kada kulata pasaylo,” Jabido said.
(You didn’t feel sorry when you beat me, you haven’t changed even though I have already forgiven you many times).
The incident took place around 2 a.m. on Thursday, September 14, 2023 outside a mall in Fuente Osmeña, Cebu City, where his wife worked in a call center company.
When Sabido went out of the building along with her coworkers, Cui, who was waiting outside, suddenly punched Tura and threatened to kill Mk Janone Niñal Aves, 23, of Barangay Duljo-Fatima.
The victims immediately went to the Abelllana police station to report the incident.
The police then conducted a follow-up operation and arrested Cui at 2:35 a.m.
The suspect will be facing charges for physical injuries, intimidation and alarm and scandal.(AYB, TPT)
