CEBU Governor Gwendolyn Garcia has ordered the installation of additional water pump to the transmission pipe lines in Carmen town, northern Cebu.

This came after the governor reportedly became concerned about the water situation in the area as a result of the extremely hot weather.

Garcia met with Carmen Mayor Carlo Villamor along with BL Pangan Construction representative Braulio Pangan and the Provincial Engineering Office on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, to discuss the water shortage issue in the said municipality.

Garcia issued a directive during the meeting to install the water pump within a week to strengthen the water pressure so that water supply would reach the households in Carmen and its neighboring towns.

The primary source of water for Cebu Manila Water Development Inc. (CMWDI), which provides water to Consolacion and Mandaue City, is the municipality of Carmen.

“Prioridad man gyud ta ni ninyo. Inyong huna-hunaon ang mga tawo nga nagkinahanglan og tubig. (This should have been your priority. Think of the people who need water),” Garcia said through Capitol’s social media arm, Sugbo News. (ANV, TPT)
