‘Alyansa’ coalition aims for ‘real change’

Former Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) secretary Benhur Abalos Jr. said the electoral alliance, Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, was formed to promote “real change and progress in the country,” as he called on Dabawenyos during the coalition’s proclamation rally in Carmen, Davao del Norte, recently to vote straight for the Alyansa’s senatorial slate.

“Mga kababayan, ang Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas ay nagtataguyod ng tunay na pagbabago at kaunlaran para sa ating bayan. Sama-sama nating gawin number one ang ating senatorial slate,” Abalos told the crowd.

The ABP senatorial slate consists of a powerhouse lineup of experienced leaders and prominent figures, including Abigail Binay, Pia Cayetano, Panfilo Lacson, Lito Lapid, Imee Marcos, Manny Pacquiao, Bong Revilla, Tito Sotto, Francis Tolentino, Erwin Tulfo, and Camille Villar.

The alliance represents a coalition of major political parties such as Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas–CMD, Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), Nacionalista Party, and the National Unity Party (NUP).

Before the rally, the ABP senatorial candidates participated in a press conference, outlining their key platforms and priorities if elected to the Senate.

Among the issues they pledged to address were job creation, healthcare reforms, agricultural support, digital transformation in government services, and infrastructure development.

Abalos reiterated his commitment to strengthening local government support and promoting balanced regional development.

Meanwhile, other candidates highlighted specific plans to improve public services and provide economic opportunities, especially in Mindanao.

President Marcos Jr. joined the event to express his full support for the ABP senatorial slate, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and shared governance to achieve national progress.

Local officials, community leaders, and youth representatives also expressed their endorsements for the slate, citing the candidates’ track records and their commitment to serving the public.

The rally ended with a show of solidarity, as thousands of supporters waved banners and chanted slogans in support of the Alyansa ng Bagong Pilipinas.

The campaign continues its nationwide tour, with the ABP coalition determined to reach every corner of the country to present its vision of a brighter and more prosperous Philippines. CEA
