4 nabbed, over P300,000 shabu seized in separate buy-busts in Cebu

FOUR persons were arrested and P300,000 worth of illegal drugs were confiscated in separate buy-bust operations in Cebu on Friday, September 29, and Saturday, September 30.

The suspects were identified as Alfie Abella, 34, driver, from Barangay Sapangdaku, Cebu City, Frangie Bernaldez, 26, a construction worker from Barangay Pasil, Cebu City, Andey Badayos Jorge, of legal age, an alleged high value individual from Candulawan road, Barangay Bulacao, Talisay City, and Dwight Palomo Gacayan, 26, from Purok Dabong, Barangay Yati, Liloan town, northern Cebu.

Abella and Bernaldez were arrested at 2:10 a.m. on Saturday, September 30, by the operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA 7), Mambaling Police Station 11 and Naval Forces Central.

Seized from them were P170,000 worth of suspected shabu weighing 25 grams, buy-bust money and a cellular phone that the PDEA 7’s forensic unit is now holding.

After being able to verify reports that the two were involved in illegal drug activities based on their surveillance operations, the authorities carried out the buy-bust operation.

On Friday at 5:20 p.m., Gacayan, single, was arrested by Liloan policemen led by Major Eric Gingoyon.

He yielded packets of shabu weighing 5.24 grams with a standard drug price of P35,632.

Later at 10:05 in the evening, Jorge was captured by the members of the Provincial Intelligence Unit and Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.

The police confiscated from him 16 grams of alleged shabu valued at P108,000. (AYB, TPT)
