2 men nabbed for stealing motorcycle and trading it for P3,000 shabu

TWO men who stole a motorcycle and exchanged it for P3,000 worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Duljo Fatima, Cebu City were apprehended by the police at 4:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2023.

The suspects were identified as Greg Ricaplaza Jr., 24, from Barangay Pasil and Justine Ando Mendoza, 20, from Barangay Carreta.

They were positively identified as the ones who stole the Honda Beat motorcycle parked on P. Del Rosario Street.

The two acknowledged taking the motorcycle, dragging it to Duljo Fatima, where they traded it for shabu worth P3,000.

According to Police Major Jonathan Beethoven Taneo, the chief of Mambaling Police Station, that the two were not notorious robbers because they just dragged the motorcycle from P. Del Rosario to Duljo Fatima because they didn’t know how to operate it.

“Kining taga Pasil naa ni kaso nga illegal gambling nya kining usa taga Carreta naa kini kaso sad nga theft sa Mambaling area,” Taneo said.

(The one from Pasil has a case involving illegal gambling, while the one from Carreta has a case involving theft in Mambaling area).

Taneo is urging the motorcycle’s owner to claim the bike at the Mambaling Police Station with supporting documents.(AYB, TPT)
