In Kapatagan, Lanao del Norte. About fifty (50) upland rice, corn, and vegetable farmers organizations received new multi-function power tillers from the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN) through the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) at the Provincial Nursery Seed Farm here on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
This project was taken under the 20% PGLDN Development Fund CY2021 worth P10 Million, aiming to help 50 proponent groups under the Provincial Upland Rice Development Program, Corn Program, Gulayan Program.
2nd District Congressman Abdullah ‘Bobby’ Dimakuta Dimaporo hoped that the beneficiaries will take good care of what they received as these can also help alleviate their livelihood.
“In Provincial Government, we always make sure to set aside projects for agriculture. We just hope for you to make use of the machineries wisely and make certain that they are handled, managed, and maintained well for our next generation of farmers,” said Governor Imelda ‘Angging’ Quibranza-Dimaporo.
Dimaporo added that due to modernization, some farm laborers have lost their livelihoods. Hence, they will will try to give them attention and assistance them as well.
Jervin Tumala, the representative of Payong Logdeck Dalamas Farmers Association from the Municipality of Tagoloan, expressed his earnest thanks on behalf of his fellow farmers to PGLDN and PAO.
‘Dako among pasalamat kay bisan kami ang kinalayoan, naabot gihapon mi sa programa sa atong gobyerno. Dako kini na tabang sa among mga mag-uuma,” Tumala said.
[We are so thankful that even though we are the farthest, the program of the government still reached us. This will be a great help to us farmers.]
The event was also graced by Engr Abdul Harris Paporo, Provincial Operation Center Chief, and Reinario Bihag, Sangguniang Panlalawigan Member and Chairman of Committee on Agriculture. (PIO LDN)
