Several provinces in Luzon have been observed to have slight increases in COVID-19 positivity rates over the past week, OCTA Research fellow Guido David said on Monday.
David said that the upticks in positivity rate — or percentage of people who were found positive for COVID-19 among the total number of individuals tested— were found in the provinces of Batangas, Isabela, Tarlac, and Zambales.
From July 22 to July 29, the positivity rate in Isabela went up from 11.2% to 14.7%. It inched from 10% to 12% in Tarlac; 5.8% to 7% in Zambales; and 3.5% to 5.4% in Batangas.
The National Capital Region, however, maintained a “low” positivity rate, further dipping from 3.3% to 2.7% during the same period.
Bulacan, Cavite, La Union, Pampanga, Quezon, and Rizal also all had a low positivity rate as of July 29.
