Senator Francis Tolentino said on Saturday that an upcoming Senate investigation would look into the possible causes behind Typhoon Egay’s prolonged effects on the country.
“Mahirap magbintang muna ngayon, tapusin muna nating malaman ang punot dulo,” said Tolentino in a radio interview.
Tolentino also pointed to the possibility that the development of certain irrigation and disaster response projects could have contributed to the situation.
The senator was also interested in looking into the release of water from the Bustos Dam and the communication from the Balug-Balog Dam.
Pag may crack talagang dadaloy ang tubig doon,” said Tolentino.
“Marami pang susunod na hearing,” he added.
Meanwhile, the different branches of the national government continued their rescue and relief operations to aid flooding and the typhoon victims.
