Vice President Sara Duterte’s satisfaction rating decreased in June 2024, according to the latest survey of Social Weather Stations (SWS).
The SWS survey of June 23 – July 1, 2024 gave Duterte a +44 net satisfaction rating (65% satisfied and 21% dissatisfied), which is 19 points lower than her +63 rating in March 2024.
Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, who took the post on May 20, got a +47 satisfaction rating; Speaker Martin Romualdez got +29; and Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo got +31.
The Second Quarter 2024 Social Weather Survey was conducted from June 23-July 1, 2024, using face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide: 600 in Balance Luzon (or Luzon outside Metro Manila), and 300 each in Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The sampling error margins are ±2.5% for national percentages, ±4.0% for Balance Luzon, and ±5.7% each for Metro Manila, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
The survey was non-commissioned.
As per SWS terminology for net satisfaction ratings: +70 and above is classified as “excellent”; +50 to +69, “very good”; +30 to +49, “good”; +10 to +29, “moderate”, +9 to -9, “neutral”; -10 to -29, “poor”; -30 to -49, “bad”; -50 to -69, “very bad”; -70 and below, “execrable.”
Duterte, who hails from Davao, received a +73 rating in her bailiwick Mindanao. But this is slightly lower than her +80 last March.
Also compared to March ratings, she also received lower satisfaction ratings for the second quarter in Visayas at +47, Metro Manila at +32, and Balance Luzon at +31.
Further, the survey also showed that Duterte received a net satisfaction rating of +46 in rural areas in June from +68 in March.
Her satisfaction rating also dropped in rural areas from +58 in March to +42 in June.
Duterte’s net satisfaction rating was at +59 among both 25 to 34-year-olds and 35 to 44-year-olds; +42 among 45 to 54-year-olds; +37 among 18 to 24-year-olds, and +27 among those 55 years old and above.
According to SWS, compared to March 2024, it fell by 28 points from +65 among the 18 to 24-year-olds; 15 points from +74 among the 25 to 34-year-olds; 18 points from +61 among the 45 to 54-year-olds, and 30 points from +57 among those 55 years old and above.
