SRA Administrator Alba has resigned, says board member

Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA) chief David Thaddeus Alba has resigned from his post, according to SRA board member Pablo Luis Azcona on Friday.

Interviewed on Dobol B TV, Azcona said Alba’s resignation was discussed during the recent board meeting.

“Hindi pa naman kami (Alba) nag-usap personally pero ‘yun po ang alam ko,” said Azcona.

(I haven’t talked yet with Alba but I’ve heard of his resignation.)

He also said he has no information on whether Alba’s resignation, which is said to be due to health reasons, has been accepted by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.

“Wala pa kaming information. What I only know, ‘yung sinabi samin, he submitted it already and it was received. Whether or not it is acted upon already, naaktuhan na, I don’t know kung naaksyunan na,” he said.

(We have no information yet. What I only know is what we’ve been told, that he submitted his resignation already and it was received. Whether or not it is acted upon already, I don’t know.)

Azcona said a board resolution has been passed allowing the deputy administrators to assume the various duties and functions of the administrator.
