Some members of Vice President Sara Duterte’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago have left the party to join Speaker Martin Romualdez’s Lakas-CMD.
According to Ian Cruz’s report on “24 Oras,” Davao Oriental Vice Gov. Nelson Dayanghirang Jr. and five provincial board members have taken their oath before Romualdez.
Dayanghirang is a known ally of the Dutertes while some of the board members were erstwhile stalwarts of the HNP.
The vice governor is a former member of the Nacionalista Party.
Asked about the switching of parties, the vice president said she had no comment. —NB, GMA Integrated News
