The Philippines recorded 1,132 new COVID-19 cases in the week of November 7 to 13, 2023, the Department of Health said Monday.
The total is 21% higher than the 895 new cases reported in the week from October 31 to November 5, and averages out to 162 daily new cases, compared to the previous week’s average of 128, according to GMA Integrated News Research.
This is also the 16th straight week of more than 100 daily cases on average.
Twelve of the new COVID-19 cases have been classified as severe or critical.
Ten deaths were verified during the past week, but none of the deaths occurred in the period from October 31 to November 13.
Healthcare utilization is still in the “low risk” zone. ICU bed utilization is at 11.5%, with 164 out of 1,423 ICU beds used, for the 20th reporting week of a lower than 15% ICU occupancy rate.
Non-ICU bed utilization is at 18.3%, with 2,262 out of 12,352 non-ICU beds used, the highest occupancy rate in five weeks and the ninth reporting week of a more than 15% non-ICU utilization rate.
Of total COVID-19 admissions, 246 or 8.6% are classified as severe and critical, for the sixth straight week of more than 200 new severe and critical admissions. — BM, GMA Integrated News
