The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has increased its benefits by more than double for its members who are suffering from neonatal sepsis and bronchial asthma.
From the previous P11,700, PhilHealth now covers P25,793 under its package for neonatal sepsis, a blood infection which affects newborn infants.
As to bronchial asthma, which is a lung disease, the rates jumped from P9,000 to P22,488.
PhilHealth acting Vice President for Corporate Affairs Group Rey Baleña said the adjustments in the benefit package were effective May 1, 2024, according to an Unang Balita report Thursday.—Giselle Ombay/AOL, GMA Integrated News
