The Philippine boat that collided with a Chinese vessel off Ayungin Shoal was repaired, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Sunday.
“Opo. Tayo naman ay kahit papano may kakunting kakayahan din na magkumpuni depende sa kung anong nasira,” PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gavan said on Super Radyo dzBB.

Last Sunday, a China Coast Guard vessel collided with an Armed Forces of the Philippines-contracted boat headed to the Ayungin Shoal to resupply the BRP Sierra Madre.
During the same mission, a PCG vessel was also “bumped” by a Chinese maritime militia vessel.
Ayungin Shoal is located 105.77 nautical miles from the nearest Philippine province of Palawan and constitutes part of the country’s 200-nautical mile exclusive economic zone (EEZ) and continental shelf as provided under a United Nations convention.
President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. tasked the PCG to conduct a probe into the incident.
Gavan said that the result of the investigation was already submitted to the Department of Transportation (DOTr) for review. He, however, refrained from disclosing details of the report.
“Siguro pagkatapos ng eleksyon ay mayroon na tayong maihayag sa ating mga kababayan,” he added.
