The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission will include former presidential spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque in its investigation into the presence of two foreigners at a house in Tuba, Benguet that was raided in connection with alleged illegal Philippine offshore gaming operators.
According to a 24 Oras report by Tina Panganiban-Perez on Wednesday, Usec. Gilbert Cruz made the remark before a congressional inquiry after Roque told the House committee that he had an interest in the corporation that owned the property in Benguet.
“With this development, we will include former spokesperson Harry Roque in our investigation,” Cruz said before the inquiry.
Roque had told the committee that he didn’t know the persons who were arrested in the operation by the Bureau of Immigration and the PAOCC.
“Hindi ko po kilala itong dalawang tao [na naaresto]. Inaamin ko po that I have an interest in the corporation that owns the house,” Roque said.
(I don’t the two persons who were arrested. I admit that I have an interest in the corporation that owns the house.)
Said house in Tuba, Benguet was raided and led to the arrest of two Chinese nationals allegedly involved in POGO.
GMA News Online has reached out to Roque for comment and will publish his side as as soon as it is available. —Jiselle Casucian/NB, GMA Integrated News
