The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said on Friday that there was no tsunami threat to the country as a result of the magnitude 6.7 earthquake that hit the Mariana Islands.
According to the agency, the earthquake struck at a depth of 212 kilometers at 7:03 p.m.
”No destructive tsunami threat exists based on available data. This is for information purposes only, and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake,” PHIVOLCS said. — VBL, GMA Integrated News
