Marcos vows to address PH job-skills mismatch

ILOILO City —President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Thursday vowed to address the job-skills mismatch in the country.

Marcos said this as he inspected the Trabaho para sa Bagong Pilipinas that was spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at the Iloilo Sports Complex in La Paz, Iloilo City.

(Sometimes the problem is that the applicant’s skills does not match the job he/she is applying for so we are helping them so that they could be employed with the right job.)

The “job-matching event” was designed to assist graduating beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) transition from government aid to self-sufficiency and financial independence by offering a wide range of jobs and pre-employment assistance.

According to Marcos, at least 2,000 have registered for the job-matching event in Iloilo.

Another event was the Kadiwa ng Pangulo by the Department of Agriculture (DA), which sells basic commodities and agricultural products at affordable prices.

Marcos said the public could buy cheaper rice in the Kadiwa stalls.
