President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Saturday called on Filipinos to take advantage of the government-initiated job fairs under his administration’s “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” initiative.
“Hangad ko po ang inyong tagumpay. Kakambal nito ay ang aking panawagan na sana po ay mapalawig pa ninyo ang mga pagkakataon at oportunidad na nasa inyong harapan,” Marcos said during the “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fair for beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) beneficiaries in Tagum City, Davao del Norte.
(I hope you succeed and encourage you to take advantage of more opportunities.)
”Naniniwala ako na ang bawat isa sa inyo ay may kakayahan at determinasyon upang gawing produktibo ang inyong pamumuhay,” Marcos said.
(I believe each of you has the capability and determination to make your lives productive.)
The President said that during the government-led job fair’s launch in January this year, more than 9,068 individuals applied for job offerings, with over 1,028 hired on the spot.
Employers hired at least 95 4Ps beneficiaries.
Marcos emphasized the success of last year’s 1,908 job fairs, where 66,667 individuals were hired on the spot.
“Gagawin ko po lahat para itong programa na ito ay magkalat sa buong bansa.”
(I’ll do everything in my power to replicate this initiative across the country.)
In addition to creating jobs, the government assists job seekers through job matching to connect them with positions that align with their talents and skill sets.
The “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” program seeks to empower beneficiaries of the 4Ps through employment opportunities, livelihood assistance, and access to essential support services.
The government plans to assist 4.4 million household beneficiaries this year, including 263,238 in the Davao Region.
Tagum City’s job fair features 28 employers participating to offer various employment and livelihood opportunities.
A total of 1,240 job vacancies are available, including customer service representative, clerk, cashier, bagger, carpenter, and mason positions. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
