President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. led Wednesday the inaugural distribution of cash gifts to qualified beneficiaries of the Expanded Centenarians Act of 2024.
The ceremonial distribution of cash gifts took place at the Heroes Hall in Malacañang Palace.
According to the Presidential Communications Office, more than P2.9 billion will be distributed this year to over 275,000 senior citizens across the country in recognition of their invaluable contributions to society.
This was through the efforts of the National Commission of Senior Citizens (NCSC) and other partner government agencies.

Republic Act 11982 grants P10,000 to seniors upon reaching 80, 85, 90 and 95 years old, while maintaining the P100,000 cash gift for centenarians under the Centenarians Act of 2016 or RA 10868.
The expansion of cash gifts guarantees sustained assistance and appreciation for their lifelong dedication to the nation.
The NCSC is tasked to implement the Centenarians Act and the Expanded Centenarians Act starting January 2025.
