An incoming Grade 5 student from Olongapo City raised the Philippine flag as he clinched the gold medal in an international math competition in New York City.
According to a report on “24 Oras,” Francis Deinmel Legaspi, ten years old, bested more than 100 finalists from 22 countries after winning the 2023 Copernicus International Math Olympiad.
The Copernicus International Math Olympiad is a globally renowned international competition where students from 3rd to 12th grade participate in Mathematics and Astronomy.
Legaspi is currently studying at the Special Education for the Gifted in Subic. Prior to his feat, he also won gold medals in other competitions held in various countries. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
