Former “GMA Balita” anchor Mike Lacanilao has passed away at the age of 88.
This was confirmed by his wife, Anna Francisca Castañeda-Lacanilao, according to a “24 Oras” report on Monday.
The veteran journalist previously served as a co-anchor of GMA Balita, one of GMA-7’s news and public affairs shows in the 1990s. He was also the president of Febias College of Bible from 1976 to 1982.
A joint memorial service in his honor will be held at Greenhills Christian Fellowship in Ortigas on Tuesday, Feb. 13.
A public viewing of his wake will likewise be conducted in Sucat, Parañaque on Thursday, Feb. 15 before he will be laid to rest. —Sundy Locus/NB, GMA Integrated News
