The Eid al-Adha prayers will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024, according to the region’s Islamic advisory council.
In a statement released on Saturday, the Bangsamoro Darul-Ifta’ (BDI) said the prayers will be held at exactly 6:00 a.m.
According to Bangsamoro Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulrauf Guialani, the date corresponds to the 10th day of Dhul-Hijjah in the Islamic calendar (1445 H).
“Celebrations will officially commence following the Eid Khutbah (sermon) after the prayer and continue until the Ayyam Al-Tashreeq (Days of Throwing), which will begin on June 17 and conclude with the Maghrib (sunset) call to prayer on June 19,” said Mufti Guialani.
The BDI added that all recognized Eid prayer locations within the Bangsamoro region are encouraged to follow this guideline to promote unity and solidarity during this joyous occasion.
Eid al-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” is a significant Islamic holiday commemorating Prophet Ibrahim’s (Alayhis Salam) unwavering devotion to Allah.
