DepEd: Pilot run of revised K-10 curriculum to begin Sept. 25

The pilot implementation of the recalibrated Kindergarten to Grade 10 (K-10) curriculum of the basic education will start on September 25 in select schools across the country, the Department of Education (DepEd) announced Sunday.

Thirty-five schools will be participating in the pilot run of the new MATATAG K-10 curriculum which was launched on August 10.

Based on the list provided by DepEd to the members of the media, five of the schools are in the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly in Malabon City.

Five schools each from the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, Central Visayas, Soccsksargen, and Caraga will also join the pilot implementation.

DepEd deputy spokesperson Assistant Secretary Francis Bringas earlier said that DepEd will consolidate all the findings and results of this pilot run in preparation for the phased implementation in the coming years.

The phased implementation of the new K-10 curriculum among learners in Kinder, Grade 1, Grade 4, and Grade 7 will begin in School Year (SY) 2024-2025.

It will be followed by Grades 2, 5, and 8 in SY 2025-2026; Grades 3, 6 and 9 in SY 2026-2027; and Grade 10 in SY 2027-2028. —KG, GMA Integrated News
