Day 5: 12 Senate hopefuls, 20 party-list groups file COCs, CONAs

Twelve aspiring senators and 20 party-list groups filed candidacy papers at the Commission on Elections on Day 5.

Here is the list of those who formalized their senatorial bids on Saturday, October 5:

Meanwhile, here are the party-list groups that are eyeing seats in the House of Representatives:

• Aktibong Kaagapay Party-list

• Construction Workers Solidarity (CWS) Partylist

• TGP Party-list

• Kabataan Party-list

• Kaunlad Pinoy Party-list

• 1-Pacman Party-list

• Toda Aksyon Party-list

• Ako Bisaya Party-list

• KM Ngayon Na Party-list

• Mamamayang Liberal (ML) Party-list

• Solo Parents Party-list

• Alyansa laban sa Substance Abuse para sa Bagong Pilipinas Natin (ASAP NA) Party-list

• Ayuda sa may Kapansanan Party-list

• Pilipinas Babangong Muli Party-list

• Maharlikang Pilipino Partylist

• Bayan Itayo ang Dangal ng Agrikultura Kasama sa Tagumpay (Bida Katagumpay)

“Medyo malaki-laki pa ang inaantay na bilang. 160 total na inaasahan ng mag fafile,” Comelec Chairperson George Erwin Garcia said.

(We are still waiting for more party-list groups since we are expecting 160.)

During the first day of COC filing on October 1, 17 aspiring senators and 11 party-list groups filed their candidacies.

On Day 2, 10 senatorial aspirants and 11 party-list groups filed their candidacies.

On Day 3, 12 aspiring senators and nine party-list groups filed their candidacies on the third day.

Meanwhile, on the fourth day, there were 19 senatorial aspirants, while 15 party-list groups filed their  certificates of nomination and acceptance.

No untoward incidents were reported at filing sites, Garcia said.

The Comelec will accept COCs and CONAs until October 8. —VBL, GMA Integrated News
