Complainant in Quiboloy case hoping other victims will come out

One of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy’s complainants said she hopes other victims will be inspired by her action and come out to tell the truth.

According to Joseph Morong’s report on 24 Oras, the complainant, alias “Amanda” had an encounter with Quiboloy at the arraignment of the qualified human trafficking case at a Pasig court earlier in the day.

Amanda said she knew that Quiboloy had many other victims.

Now that she has filed a case, she said she hopes victims can draw strength from her actions.

“Andito na po tayo eh, nahuli na po. Maglakas na lang tayo ng loob, sasabiihin na lang natin yung totoo para makamit natin yung hustisya,” she said.

(We are now here, he has been arrested. Let’s just be courageous, let’s just tell the truth so we can get justice.)

Amanda said she felt no fear with her decision to come out.

“I’m very happy because I didn’t think that after a long time that I’ve been voicing this out, this is finally out in the public and he is being arraigned, I’m very happy,” she said.

Amanda was still a young girl when she was recruited to the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) in Davao.

At first, she sold biscuits and collected donations to be remitted to KOJC but later became a close-in pastoral — a small group of selected members of KOJC tasked to serve Quiboloy personally.

It was in 2014 when Quiboloy allegedly raped her. She was 17 years old then.

In 2016 — Amanda escaped KOJC with the help of her parents.

She said she never thought he could sue an influential person like Quiboloy, adding that after filing a complaint, many got mad at her.

“Ang madalas po nilang sinasabi is to discredit yung finile ko, madalas nilang sinasabi na pokpok daw po ako tapos idadamay daw nila yung family ko,” Amanda shared.

(What they often say is to discredit my case, they often say that I am a whore. They also said they would harm my family.)

Amanda said her family remains her source of strength amid the tough battles she face.

“When I left [KOJC], they went with me.  We left as a family,” she said.

Asked for her message to Quiboloy, Amanda said, “Justice will prevail.”
