The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Friday advised selected individuals regarding the local absentee voting schedule in April for Eleksyon 2025.
The poll body said that all government officials and employees, including members of the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and media practitioners including their technical and support staff who are temporarily assigned to perform election duties or cover/report on the conduct of elections may avail local absentee voting for this year’s polls.
Comelec said government officials and members of the AFP and PNP could file their application not later than March 7, 2025. They could file before their heads of offices, supervisors, commanders or offficers who are next-in-rank.
For members of the media, they can also lodge their application not later than March 7, 2025. They can file their applications to the Office of the Regional Election Director – National Capital Region for those in Metro Manila; the Office of the City Election Officer for HUCs or independent cities outside NR; or the Office of the Provincial Election Supervisor for areas not mentioned above.
Local Absentee Voting will take place on April 28, 29, and 30 at 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The 90-day campaign period for the senatorial candidates and party-list groups began last February 11.
