BI records 60,000 daily arrivals nationwide this December

The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has recorded almost 60,000 daily arrivals nationwide in the Philippines this December.

According to the BI, arrivals increased from 50,000 during the first week of December to almost 60,000 during the Christmas week.

Immigration Commissioner Norman Tansingco said more than 85% of the passengers arrived through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Meanwhile, Tansingco said the BI recorded 31,408 departures on December 23, an increase from the 25,759 departures recorded on the first day of December.

For faster Immigration clearance, Tansingco advised arriving Filipinos to use the e-gates. He also reminded passengers to register at etravel.gov.ph at least 72 hours before arrival or departure from the country.
