BACOLOD City —Former Senator Bam Aquino sounded off a unity call in a campaign stop here, saying all Filipinos want a better future for the next generation through better governance and reforms.
“Mga kaibigan, alam niyo po ang bigat ng nangyayari po sa ating bansa. Ito pong nakaraang linggo, napakatindi po ng mga pangyayari. Tila hinahati na naman po ang bansa natin. Kailangan po nating ipaalala sa mga kababayan natin na kahit magkakaiba ang pananaw natin sa maraming bagay, meron pa rin po tayong pagkakaparehas,” Aquino said.
(Friends, our country has been through a lot lately. This past week has been intense, and it appears that the country is divided. We need to remind all Filipinos that while we do not share the same views, we have something in common.)
Aquino did not go into details.
“Ayaw po natin ng isang gobyernong mapang-abuso, ayaw po natin ng mga lingkod-bayan na nagnanakaw. Ang gusto po natin isang gobyernong tapat, angat buhay lahat,” Aquino added.
(All of us don’t want an abusive government, and we don’t want public officials who steal from us. Because an honest government means prosperity for us all.)
Aquino then called on his supporters here to reach out to those who are yet to be convinced to vote for him and former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, stressing that their ranks led by former Vice President Leni Robredo have always stood and fought for the benefit of all Filipinos.
”Gusto po natin ang mga kabataan natin naaabot ang kanilang pangarap, at nais ko pong sabihin mahalaga ang katotohanan, mahalaga ang hustisya pero mahalaga rin po na ipaalala natin na lahat tayo ay Pilipino, bawat isa po sa atin dito, kailangan po magreach out, hindi lang po sa mga kasama natin noong nakaraang kampanya, magreach out po tayo sa lahat ng Pilipino,” Aquino said.
(We want our youth to realize their dreams, and I want to say that truth is important, justice is important, but it is also important to be reminded that we are all Filipinos, and we have to reach out to various quarters, even those outside of the groups that we stood with during the 2022 campaign. We have to reach out to all Filipinos.)
“Dahil si Ginang Leni po nung tumakbo, tumakbo po siya bilang presidente ng lahat ng Pilipino. At ako po, si Senator Bam Aquino, tumatakbong senador ng Pilipinas, tumatakbo ng senador ng lahat ng Pilipino,” Aquino added.—LDF, GMA Integrated News
