The Department of Health (DOH) on Wednesday recorded 167 new COVID-19 cases, while the tally of active cases further dipped to 10,109.
Based on the DOH’s latest data, this was the third day straight of fewer than 200 new COVID-19 infections, while the nationwide tally rises to 4,072,261.
The active infections went down from 10,228 on Tuesday.
The National Capital Region (NCR) remained the leading region with the highest number of cases in the past two weeks with 1,059 infections logged.
This was followed by Calabarzon with 538, Western Visayas with 270, Central Luzon with 253, and Cagayan Valley with 215.
Meanwhile, the country’s recovery tally climbed to 3,996,422 with 188 new recoveries.
The death toll, on the other hand, also rose to 65,730 with four new deaths.
The country’s bed occupancy slightly increased to 18.7%, with 5,011 beds occupied and 21,733 were vacant as of Tuesday, January 24.
