Rowdy Panabo 7-Eleven Brawlers Fined ₱10,000

Five youths involved in a brawl at a 7-Eleven branch in Panabo City, Davao del Norte, were asked to pay ₱10,000 for the damage they caused, not ₱200,000 as falsely circulated on social media. Lt. Col. Dexter Cuevas, Panabo City Police Station officer-in-charge, stated that the altercation, which occurred around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday, stemmed from a misunderstanding over “picture-taking.” The 7-Eleven establishment in Barangay San Pedro agreed to the ₱10,000 settlement with the five individuals, aged 19 to 21, who caused the damage. The individuals, who were drunk, included two from Tibungco, one from Panacan, Davao City; one from Braulio E. Dujali, Davao del Norte; and one transient resident from San Vicente, Panabo City. Investigation revealed they belonged to different groups of friends who met at various spots. The altercation began when a woman became agitated over perceived mockery from pictures taken by another woman nearby. Cuevas described the incident as a scuffle between friends rather than severe violence. The involved individuals were sent home after the investigation, accompanied by their parents, with plans for a potential follow-up meeting at the barangay level. Meanwhile, Facebook user “Hoar Knee,” who posted the original video of the scuffle, apologized, stating it was done without realizing its impact on the establishment’s reputation. The 7-Eleven branch at the Anflo Industrial Estate in Panabo emphasized its commitment to maintaining a safe and responsible environment for customers.
